Tom McKeown

About Tom

Having worked for several years as a youth development officer and coach at Leinster Rugby, Tom recently took up the post of Rugby Development Officer at Maynooth University. In this role he coordinates and manages the rugby scholarship program whilst being head coach to the very successful under 20s team at MU Barnhall RFC. He is a former semi-professional snooker player and has a keen interest in all sports. Tom recently captained MU Barnhall RFC to promotion on the back of a 100% winning record in AIL Division 2B. He has also represented Ireland at Rugby League.

Barry Smith

About Barry

Barry is a Chartered Physiotherapist working in the area of Sports and Exercise Medicine for 18 years. He completed a Masters in Sports Medicine in 2002. Since then he has worked with a wide variety of sports including soccer, rugby, hockey, GAA and the Irish Boxing Team. He is currently chief medical officer at MU Barnhall RFC and physiotherapist to the MU Sports Scholarship Program. He is also Chartered Physiotherapist to the Irish Universities' Rugby Union squad. He is currently completing a Masters in Applied Sports Coaching at the University of Limerick. Barry is active in juvenile coaching at Peamount United F.C. and provides coach development support to a number of sports organisations and coaches. Barry is a former international tennis player and has been Irish junior singles, doubles and mixed doubles champion on several occasions. He has had the great pleasure of also representing Ireland in both touch and tag rugby, captaining tag rugby teams to victory against Great Britain in 2013 and 2014. He has also engaged in years of martial arts/boxing training and has huge experience of strength and conditioning training. Barry completed a Certificate in Neuroscience and Training via Barcelona FC. His special interest areas include youth athletic development, the neuroscience of learning and memory, skill development, teaching methods in sports, and coaching behaviours. .

Stephen Sheeran

About Stephen

Stephen qualified with a BSc. in Sports and Exercise Sciences from the University of Limerick in 2010. He subsequently obtained a Master’s of Science in Sports and Exercise Nutrition from the Jordanstown University Ulster. He is an International Rugby Board and IRFU certified conditioning coach and a certified strength and conditioning coach. He has worked with the Kildare GAA Football Team for a number of seasons and is currently head of athletic development with the Kildare U-21 football squad. Currently Stephen is working with MU's Sigerson Football Team and Kildare Ladies Football. Stephen is also head of strength and conditioning for the gaelic football and rugby programs at Maynooth University. He has played soccer and gaelic football and currently participates in competitive triathlon racing.

Sly Sode

About Sly

Sly has been a professional dancer, dance teacher and choreographer for over ten years. He represented Ireland at the World Hip Hop Championships and was a founding member of the “Raw Edge Crew” that made it to the live stages of hugely popular Sky 1 Got to Dance show. Sly covers a variety of hip hop styles from old school to new school. He is a hugely popular teacher with all of children he teaches in the Kildare area.
